We found a great place to find lower prices on fab wines. Today they are selling La Sirena, from Heidi Peterson Barrett, the “First Lady of Wine.” Barrett is a truly gifted winemaker whose wines have earned 100 points from Robert Parker, Jr., and whose 6-liter bottle of 1992 Screaming Eagle set a world record for the highest price ever paid for a single bottle of wine at the 2000 Napa Valley Wine Auction, selling for $500,000.

Fresh from a late night viewing of “The People v. Larry Flynt,” I noticed a Google alert, “Winemaker Sues Anonymous Commenters on Wine Blog.” A few clicks later I find out that Charles Smith of K Vintners filed a complaint and caused subpoenas to be served on Google to get the IP addresses of the anonymous commenters.
