Bedrock Hudson Vineyard North "Pleine de Chêne" Carneros Syrah with grilled lamb, roasted potatoes and green beans with garlic. Fantastic! Even more delicious by itself afterwards! I really wish we'd bought more.
Intense Bing cherry, cola and orange peel on the nose. Cola/coffee on the palate with an almost espresso "bite" adds complexity. Listed at 14.1% alcohol, it seems higher. Paired with grilled pork loin and haricots Francais (French green beans). $60
Drinking the 2007 Palacios Proprietary Rioja with slow roasted beef pot roast. It's delicious and spicy with good acidity that cuts through the richness of the gravy. Surprisingly awesome pairing.
Magic Hat Milk Stout and chocolate chip cookies = YUM!
#zin #wine Inky color, rich nose. Flavors of dark fruit, blackberries, blueberries and plum mixed in with vanilla and tobacco notes. Finishes with spicy black pepper and rich mocha.
