Project Y-ine Takes On Texas: Part I

I10TXThe road trip has commenced, and Ashley and Shana are making their way towards Texas. The ladies of Project Y-ine spent the last couple days in New Orleans, and from reading their exploits, were guests in a palatial New Orleans’ mansion. We’re not quite sure if it was an Antebellum style but suffice it to say, Chez Another Wine Blog has that more “lived in” look and feel. We did, however, get the teenagers to clean their rooms, and the bathroom has been reincarnated from early frat house to something the ladies will not need shower shoes to enter.

beerwenchIf all goes according to schedule, Project Y-ine will arrive in the Houston area late this afternoon. Project Y-ine is the first social media exposé on Generation Y and their drinking habits from the minds of Shana Ray and Ashley V Routson. Tonight they’ll be talking with wine and beer lovers, aged 21-33, in the “other” Bay Area; the one near Clear Lake, where all the folks from NASA hang out.

If time allows we plan to take them on a quick tour of Kemah to see how it’s recovering from Hurricane Ike. Then it’s west on NASA Road 1 to Boondoggles in El Lago for some brew, and Chelsea Wine Bar for a little Twisted Oak *%#&@! and whatever other tasty wines Mayra suggests!

Shana and Ashley are just here for one day, and tomorrow they’re heading to Austin. If you’re in the Houston area, come on out and tell the ladies what drives you to drink what you do (we mean your preference!) Boondoggles is located at 4106 Nasa Parkway, El Lago, TX 77586. Take NASA Rd 1 to Lakeshore Dr. and make a left on the first entrance. It’s the big old fashioned red brick building right in front of the lake. Chelsea is just across the parking lot, and we have it on good authority that Capt Scott Gamlem and the On-Time Airline will be there for Chelsea’s weekly Wednesday Night Jam from 8 – 11 p.m. If you get lost on the way just call Chelsea at (281) 326-5282.
