Because another wine food and travel blog was way too long.

Yesterday I basically asked whether the Wine Blogger Conference had jumped the shark in it’s second year. Today the question was answered most definitively. Hell no!

What a great day. The details will be provided later, but everything from the speakers, to the wine, to the food, to the locale were fantastic. Sure, there were some hiccups along the way, but today was eveything yesterday was not. I was reminded of why I loved last year’s event so much.

I would like to apologize to the organizers for suggesting yesterday that they may have lost their mojo. While I stand by everything that I said, they more than made up for it today. This was a learning experience, I got to try so many new things, and it was fun from start to finish. Thanks, WBC!

In closing, I think this photo of Ashley the Beer Wench says it all.

  • You are completely right, Saturday and today were perfect! It wasn't until I read your post on Friday that I even remembered some of those bad moments.

The last two days have wiped them out (the wine helped, of course!)

I'm sure there were some bad moments at last years conference too. Luckily my mind has only retained the good ones.

No keynote speaker could possibly have filled the shoes of Gary V. from last year. Anyone would have been worse.

That said, some of the other speakers were really great this year. Barry in particular. And the sessions today were great.

My vote for next years keynote is Jancis Robinson. Let's see if we can get a grass roots movement going to draft her!
  • Same here, Sam. I have to read Friday's post to even remember most of the things that pissed me off that first day. The rest of the WBC was an amazing, wonderful event. It was great seeing you again!

Jancis Robinson would certainly be a great keynote speaker.
  • I will be glad to read about it, we always wonder what is going on when no one is Tweeting....must be something good open. Looking forward to meeting everyone in Wala Wala next year.
  • Hopefully, I can remember enough details to make it a good post for you. :)
