In a few hours I will board a plane headed for Barcelona! That’s right, I’m headed to Spain to visit the lovely land of Cava, Priorat and the sunny Mediterranean with the nice people at Freixenet.
The visit promises to be busy. It’s part of a year-long celebration that began last November to mark the 100th anniversary since the first bottling of Freixenet. The trip will start with an in-depth look at the Freixenet Group’s most modern project, Mia wines, and will end with a historical day at the Casa Sala winery hosted by members of the Ferrer family. In between, the itinerary will include a day trip to the Ferrers’ Morlanda winery in Priorat, a tour of Freixenet, an Assemblage experience with the winemaker at Segura Viudas and, I’m told, many surprises (and tapas!) along the way.
I hope to be able to update the blog while I’m visiting, but these trips are always whirlwind, so you may just have to wait until I return.
I’m excited to finally visit the inspiration for proper diction in one of my favorite movies as a little girl, My Fair Lady. So while I’m off to finish packing, I will let you enjoy a clip from the film.
