Another Wine Blog is headed to Spain!

In a few hours I will board a plane headed for Barcelona! That’s right, I’m headed to Spain to visit the lovely land of Cava, Priorat and the sunny Mediterranean with the nice people at Freixenet.

Freixenet_CavaThe visit promises to be busy. It’s part of a year-long celebration that began last November to mark the 100th anniversary since the first bottling of Freixenet. The trip will start with an in-depth look at the Freixenet Group’s most modern project, Mia wines, and will end with a historical day at the Casa Sala winery hosted by members of the Ferrer family. In between, the itinerary will include a day trip to the Ferrers’ Morlanda winery in Priorat, a tour of Freixenet, an Assemblage experience with the winemaker at Segura Viudas and, I’m told, many surprises (and tapas!) along the way.

I hope to be able to update the blog while I’m visiting, but these trips are always whirlwind, so you may just have to wait until I return.

I’m excited to finally visit the inspiration for proper diction in one of my favorite movies as a little girl, My Fair Lady. So while I’m off to finish packing, I will let you enjoy a clip from the film.

Cheers!
