UPDATE: Check out our Press Release.
Bonny Doon’s Randall Grahm at “Been Doon So Long,” Alder Yarrow’s Vinography; RJ on Wine and Good Grape round out the nominees for Best Writing on a Wine Blog.
“About f-ing time, you a…holes,” says Joe Power, who, in his own acerbic way, posts an annual diatribe imploring the Awards’ committee to embrace transparency with regards to the process.

And the Process? Each year the organizers invite nominations. Secret judges whittle nominees down to 5 or 6 finalists, then to be voted on by the general public. Public votes are then combined with secret judges’ scores to determine eventual winners which are announced at the annual Wine Bloggers’ Conference, this year to be held in Charlottesville, Virginia, July 22-26.
The awards were originally devised by PR man Tom Wark, as an effort to drive more traffic to his blog, Fermentation. After cries of cronyism he “transferred” responsibility for the awards’ process to Conference organizers, thus allowing his own blog to be nominated and potentially win an award.
Other finalists include the following:
Best New Blog
Best Winery Blog
Best Single Subject
Best Wine Reviews
Best Industry Blog
Best Graphics, Photography, Presentation
Best Overall Wine Blog
Actually, we really think it’s awesome to be among the finalists, and wish all the Wine Blogger Awards’ finalists the best of luck! Should you wish to vote for us, “Another Wine Blog” is the first entry in item 6, Best Writing in the survey.
