Fantastic Bargain Wine!
On the suggestion of a co-worker I tried the 2004 Perrin Reserve Cotes du Rhone Rouge. This stuff is incredible! It is a blend 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre that will match up with everything from lamb to red sauce.
It is fairly dry, with lots of fruit, mostly cherries, and a hint of smoke. This is about as tasty a table wine as you will find anywhere. If this wine has a flaw it is that it is too drinkable. It lists at $10.99 but I found it for $7.99 at my local store.
