There is a running argument in my house about what should be served for Easter dinner. My wife thinks it should be ham, and I think it should be lamb. To me, ham is an everyday kind of food and not suitable for special occasions unless you can’t cook or don’t have time to prepare a meal for a large group. I have a feeling she will win this year, but if not, this is what I am fixing. Lamb braised with wine (Osso Bucco) for Easter Dinner. Deep, rich flavor and fall off the bone tenderness make this dish irresistible. This is not the traditional style recipe, but it is what most folks think of these days.

Viva La Revolucion! Houston Chefs keep wine prices down.

My adopted hometown has a revolution going on in the food industry. Some of the very best restaurants in Houston have decided that selling wines at reasonable prices is good for business, and are being proven right. Viva La Revolucion!

Lloyd’s of London has insured the nose of winemaker Ilja Gort for $8 million. I’m with him on this one.

Strange as it seems, the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show is a great place for wine lovers. In addition to the the World BBQ Championship, Livestock Show, and genuine Rodeo that you would expect at an event with such a name, they have some fantastic wine events.
