Next Friday (6/25) the 2010 edition of the Wine Bloggers’ Conference kicks off. This will be the first time that it will not be held in Sonoma and Napa. Walla Walla, Washington will be hosting the invading hoards of debauchery-minded wine scribblers this year. While the conference may not start until Friday, Amy and I will be flying out on Tuesday as the bacchanal extends well beyond the constraints of the 3 days of the actual conference on both ends. Oh, be still my throbbing liver!

Now, if you read all of that you may have recognized a name or two on the list of panelists presenting at the conference, including mine. I will be joining Colby Vorhees from Wine Peeps and the indomitable Wild Walla Wine Woman herself, Catie Walker to discuss Blogging 101, whatever the hell that is. It should be interesting to see how many beginner bloggers show up, but anything is possible. Considering who my esteemed panel members are, whatever we end up talking about, it should be a lively discussion no matter who the audience turns out to be.

On a related note, if you are going to be attending the Wine Bloggers Conference in Walla Walla, we have two seats for the Red Mountain Post-Conference Excursion to give away. If you are an attendee that can use one or both of them, please let us know. We now have other plans and would hate to see them go to waste.

No Deposit. No Return.

A winemaker once told us that if a wine is not able to stand on its own as drinkable when first bottled, it would never be good. I have to hope the same is not true for kids. That you do what you can to make them know they are loved. You instill in them the values you think they will need. And then you have to let them go.

Have Notes, Will Travel

While there are plenty of journals for tasting notes, most of them are either big and cumbersome, or just too fancy to lug around. But we found a great little set of notebooks from the people at Scout Books!
