Brenner’s on the Bayou to Host 6th Annual Wine Festival in Houston

Stroll along Houston’s Buffalo Bayou sipping award-winning wines paired with delicious and creative cuisine this Saturday, April 11th, when Brenner’s on the Bayou hosts the 6th Annual Wine Festival just off Memorial Drive, minutes from Downtown near Memorial Park.

Chef Ryan Braden has created some great VIP pairings

Guests can celebrate Spring from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the lush urban oasis setting, with live music by Midstream, a Houston variety dance band that performs hits from the 40s to the present. Wine pairings by Landry’s signature chefs will also be available. Featured chefs will include Brenner’s on the Bayou Chef Ryan Braden, Chef Jason Cole of Brenner’s Steakhouse, Vic & Anthony Chef Michael O’Connor, Grotto Chef Ricky Cruz and Signature Group Pastry Chef Eunice Grassa.

Old and New World selections, both sparkling and still wines will be available with a number of grape varieties and blends, so there should be something to please nearly every palate. New this year for VIP ticket holders is the Moët & Hennessey Lounge showcasing reserve wines, Champagne and light pairings from Landry’s top chefs and sommeliers.

Brenner’s on the Bayou Executive Chef Ryan Braden and Sommelier Armando Dawdy shared their pairings for the VIP Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial Champagne with me last week at a sneak preview. I snapped a few pictures. On the left is my personal favorite: Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos stuffed with Chili Spiced Beef, Manchego Cheese and Cilantro Crème. Center is Fried Onion Strings Shrimp Crostini with Dill, Avocado Relish and Mustard Crème. On the right, an always tasty Grilled Chopped Beef Sliders with Texas Smoked Brisket is sure to please any beef lover in the crowd.
